Complete Purrfect Dominion Guide
Purrfect Dominion is a pixel-art strategy game: you lead a colony of cats, grow your town, train an army of whiskers and expand across a map shared with other players. You play in the browser, with nothing to install, and the game keeps running while you are away. This guide explains everything you need to get off to a good start and to avoid getting stuck after the first few days.
1. The first ten minutes
The game starts with a small plot of land and the Meow Town Hall. It is the most important building: its level sets how high every other building can go, so upgrade it whenever you can. Right after that, it pays to line up a Biscuit Bakery (biscuits), a Sawmill (wood) and an Iron Mine (iron): these are the three sources that feed every construction that follows.
The opening tutorial walks you through your first build. If you close it by mistake you can restart it from the settings. The most useful tip for the first few minutes is simple: always keep a construction site open. Time spent without building is time wasted.
2. Resources and the warehouse
There are four resources: biscuits 🍪 (food and troops), wood 🪵 (construction), iron ⛏️ (advanced buildings and weapons) and gold 🪙 (research, market and finishing touches). Every production building generates resources every hour, even when the game is closed: when you come back you find a summary of what you collected while you were away.
The Warehouse sets how much you can stockpile. When production exceeds the cap, the excess is lost: if you only play once a day, upgrading the warehouse is worth more than a new farm. The realm's weather (clear, rain, storm, fog, tailwind) temporarily changes production, construction and march speed: it lasts three hours and is shown in the corner of the city.
3. Buildings: what to build and in what order
- Meow Town Hall — unlocks levels and new buildings. Top priority.
- Biscuit Bakery, Sawmill, Iron Mine — the foundation of the economy; keep them level with each other, because a bottleneck slows everything down.
- Warehouse — protects the overnight harvest and raises the resource caps.
- Barracks — trains troops and raises the army's capacity.
- Scratching Barricade — reduces your losses when you are attacked.
- Whisker Lab — opens the research tree.
- Cat Café and Golden Mint — morale and gold bonuses, useful in the mid game.
Every construction site takes up a slot and takes real time. You can speed it up with Crystal Paws, but it is never required: the queue keeps moving on its own. As you expand your land you unlock new plots where you can place more buildings.
4. Army, marches and battles
Troops are trained at the Barracks and use up biscuits and iron. Each type has a role: light units are fast but fragile, heavy units are slow and sturdy, siege units are effective against walls. A mixed force almost always beats an army of a single type.
From the world map you can send marches: exploring, gathering at a deposit or attacking another player. A march sets out, travels in real time, resolves its action and comes back with the loot and a detailed report. Wounded troops are healed in the city for biscuits: recovering costs far less than retraining from scratch. Anyone who is attacked gets a temporary shield, and the starting shield for new players keeps them from being targeted while they learn.
5. Quests, achievements and daily rewards
Quests are the backbone of progression: hourly (quick goals that renew every hour), daily with the final chest, weekly, and chapter chains that tell the story of the realm. Achievements, on the other hand, never expire: they reward lifetime totals (buildings completed, troops trained, marches sent, research finished).
Every day you also get the login reward with its growing streak, the wheel of fortune and the realm's happiness bonus, which hands out small amounts of resources while you play. They are designed to reward consistency more than session length.
6. Shared world, alliances and market
The map is home to the other players. You can check the leaderboard, join an alliance, use the chat (global, alliance or private) and trade resources at the market: sellers put their goods in escrow, buyers really pay from their own warehouse, so nobody can sell what they do not have.
Civilisations and factions give different bonuses and change your playstyle. Changing faction requires a Traitor's Passport: it is a choice to make calmly.
7. Crystal Paws and purchases
Crystal Paws are the premium currency: they speed up construction, open bundles and unlock optional content. You earn them by playing (quests, chests, the wheel, achievements, invitations) or you can buy them. The balance lives only on the server: no browser trick can change it, and every movement is recorded in a traceable ledger.
Purchases go through a secure external checkout; the VIP subscription gives a daily bonus and convenience perks. Nothing you can buy is essential to compete: play time remains the main resource. Terms and refunds are described in the legal notes.
8. Tips to avoid getting stuck
- Keep construction, training and research all running at once: they are separate queues.
- Before you log off, start the longest build you can afford.
- Upgrade the warehouse if you only play a few times a day.
- Don't empty your army in one attack: losses are paid for in biscuits.
- Join an alliance early: help saves days of play.
- The advisor in the city always suggests the next useful move.
